Engraving on plywood there's Not much different Between engraving the solid wood, Just a bit to note that the engraving depth is not too deep. The plywood edges will be as black as the wood after cutting.

The depth of cutting wood is generally not deep with laser cutting machine,less than 5mm usually, This is because the The laser power is small, But the slow speed of cutting will cause the burning of wood. Try to use large format laser lenses when cutting and using repeated cutting method
